BREAKING: Android 14 is official, Galaxy S23 is first in line for One UI 6
Google launches the Android 14 operating system on the Developer Preview channel. At the same time, the company published a release roadmap plan, promising a Platform Stability milestone by July, followed by a Stable release in August 2023.
The company’s Pixel smartphone portfolio is eligible to install Android 14’s Developer Preview. The company has brought system images for Pixel flagships including the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro, as well as the Android Emulator.
Roadmap:
- Developer Preview – February, March
- Beta Releases – April, May
- Platform Stability – June, July
The US tech giant expects to reach the Platform Stability landmark for Android 14 by July this year. Accordingly, Pixel handsets are likely to start receiving the Stable Android 14 firmware in August 2023, similar to the release timeline of last year’s Android OS.
As always, Samsung might not participate in Google’s Android Developer Preview program. Therefore, Galaxy consumers should not expect anything about the Android 14, at least until the Public Beta begins for Pixel. Samsung might start Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta program by July or August this year.
Notably, the Galaxy S23 series smartphones will be the first to receive the Android 14 update on both Beta and Stable channel. The company might introduce One UI 6, based on Android 14 for Galaxy devices with new features, system optimization and improvements.

Samsung will introduce the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 software version for Galaxy devices this year. I can confirm that the next version will be One UI 6 as there’s no rocket science behind this. One UI is a mature software and the company is strictly maintaining the naming strategy.
One UI 6.0
Flagship Samsung devices ranging from the Galaxy S21 series to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 foldables are eligible for the One UI 6.0 update, based on Android 14. In addition, there are a lot of Galaxy handsets launched with Android 12, which are also on the list!
One UI 6 is becoming the biggest reason, which is forcing me to purchase the S23 Ultra, but, I’ll continue using my S22 Ultra as a daily driver. Upgrade to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be highly fruitful for me, since, Samsung won’t be taking much time to expand One UI 6 Beta for older models.
One UI 6.0 Features
All the Security and Privacy related features and improvements of Android 14 will be included with the One UI 6.0 update. Samsung doesn’t rely on Google’s Android when it comes to the user interface as Galaxies offer the best and clean user experience with One UI.
We are too away from the One UI 6’s tentative development timeline, but, Samsung should now work on app icons, stock launcher, quick settings panel, and notification panel. Most users want a radically renovated user interface in One UI, as it’s continuing with refinements and refinements.
