The Galaxy S20 series includes three premium Samsung smartphones with high-end specs and plenty of user-beloved features. As promised, the company delivered new feature-packed updates to these devices three times. However, there’s still confusion about whether the Galaxy S20 will get One UI 5.1 or not.

Two months back, Samsung released Android 13-based One UI 5.0 upgrade for the Galaxy S20 series. With the new OS, the devices got some great new features and more ways of customization. Meanwhile, One UI 5 doesn’t have everything expected from Samsung.

One UI 5.1 is a big deal

Since the Galaxy S20 series are no longer eligible for anymore Android upgrade, the One UI 5.1 becomes a big deal for consumers. Samsung could offer additional features with monthly updates, but, the next One UI version could make notable changes in the usability and user experiences.

Android 13’s Dynamic Theming engine is not so good on Samsung devices. When applied, it radically paints various aspects of the user interface and some apps, and eventually, the outcome makes me unhappy! And the adoption of the themed icons feature is way too bad and I keep it turned off all the time.

Samsung seeded the multi-user profiles feature with the One UI 5 Beta update on the Galaxy S22 series. However, the company ditched the feature without revealing any reason. We guess the feature could make a comeback with the One UI 5.1 version.

Apart from this, the Korean tech giant showcased some nifty battery widgets and cool lockscreen personalization tools that are expected to be unlocked with the One UI 5.1. If we talk about the One UI 4.1, it is one of the most stable One UI versions in history.

Will S20 get One UI 5.1?

Earlier, our team spotted that the Galaxy S20 FE is internally testing a new One UI firmware, which may be One UI 5.1. The S20 FE also shipped with Android 10-based One UI 2.x software and completed its major upgrade lifecycle with One UI 5 release.

The S20 FE is an affordable sibling of the Galaxy S20 flagship lineup. And if the company is thinking about another One UI version for this device, the parent models must be in priority. One UI 5.1 could debut with S23 series in February, let’s see Samsung gives it to S20 series or not.
