Launched back in February 2022, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be getting its sequel at Samsung Unpacked next month. We are aware of the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s design, features, hardware and software, however, images of the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a flat display suspiciously emerge.

Similar to its predecessors, Samsung brought a curved edge display with the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone. However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra prototype with a flat display emerge on the web, revealing the device that had not left out Samsung’s discussion chamber.

On the rear side, the prototype features the same Contour Cut design with quad camera sensors along with LED flash and Laser Autofocus sensor. Since it uses flat display, the company has made it entirely boxy with flat back panel and angular sides.

On the front, the Galaxy S22 Ultra prototype has a flat display, which is the biggest change that never become reality. It looks like the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus with thicker bezels and chin, having an awkward appearance in the prototype form factor.

Since the prototype remain limited to testing, it’s interesting to see that the Korean tech giant may have considered ditching the curved display from the Galaxy S22 Ultra as well. As the last year’s testing didn’t give fruitful outcome, the Galaxy S23 Ultra also features curved display.

Galaxy S24 Ultra could have flat panel?

Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy S23 series on February 1, while we are about a year away from the tentative Galaxy S24 release. Possibly, the company may end up giving curved edge display with its future flagships as it radically lessened the curvature of the Galaxy S23 Ultra by making middle frame thicker.
