Samsung Android 12 Mobile continuity features with One UI 4.0

Samsung’s Android 12 based One UI 4.0 update has reached many Galaxy devices. Some people must have waited for its arrival on their phone and checked its features as soon as it arrived. However, there are some people who don’t know about the features of One UI 4 yet. We have brought a new tip for those people.

In this article, we’ll see how to use Mobile continuity features on your Samsung Galaxy device running on Android 12-based One UI 4.0 software system. So, Samsung Android 12 Mobile continuity includes three functionalities, which are as follows:

  • Continue apps on other devices: It allows you to resume what you were doing on your Galaxy phone, tablet, or another device, thus, letting users freely switch between two devices.
  • Link to Windows: It permits you to mirror notifications and texts from your phone to Windows. Basically, the service takes everything you can do on your smartphone and brings it into the convenience and familiarity with your PC.
  • Samsung Dex: It lets you expand the desktop computing experience by wirelessly connecting your smartphone to a smart display and adding a keyboard and mouse.

How to use Continue apps on other devices:

  • Open Settings of your smartphone.
  • Go to the Advanced features option.
  • Click on Continue apps on other devices.
  • Tap the toggle to turn on the feature.
  • Now open Samsung Internet or Samsung Notes on one device.
  • On the other device, tap the Recents icon.
    • An icon will appear next to recently used apps.
  • Tap it to open the app and continue using it on your current device.

How to use Link to windows feature:

Prior to starting pairing, make sure that your phone and the PC are logged in to the same Microsoft account.

  • Open Settings of your smartphone
  • Go to the Advanced features  option
  • Click on Link to Windows
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your device to your PC.

*You can also enable this feature from the Quick settings menu.

Pictures

  • Drag and drop pictures to Windows.
  • Open and edit pictures in the Your Photos app.
  • Share images with your contacts through Windows.

Messages (SMS/MMS)

  • MMS group messaging support.
  • Integration with Windows Emoji Picker.
  • Get a Windows pop-up when receiving a new message.

Notifications

  • See and manage phone notifications from your PC.
  • Exclude notifications from individual phone apps.
  • Get a Windows pop-up when receiving a new notification.

App mirroring

  • Live stream your phone screen on your PC.
  • Interact with your phone using the keyboard and mouse.
  • Use Windows Accessibility.

How to use Samsung DeX:

  • Send DeX to your TV and keep using your device, or turn your device into a trackpad.
  • Connect to a TV or monitor either wirelessly or with an HDMI cable.
  • Get DeX on your PC for quick and easy file transfers.

How to Enable DeX

  • Open Settings of your smartphone
  • Go to Advanced features
  • Click on Samsung DeX.
  • Tap the toggle to turn on the feature.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your TV or PC.
    • If connecting to a PC, download the DeX app onto your computer at samsungdex.com.

Call and text on other devices

This feature allows you to make and answer calls and text messages from your Galaxy devices that are signed in to your Samsung account.

  • Head over Settings of your smartphone
  • Go to Advanced features
  • Click on Call & text on other devices.
  • Tap the toggle to turn on the feature. Connection occurs automatically.
  • Sign in to your Samsung Account on your Galaxy devices.

*Move your contacts from your device to your Samsung account so you can access them on all registered devices.
