How to delete pre-installed apps on your Samsung phone
Your Samsung smartphone comes pre-installed with a variety of pre-installed apps that the company feels are essential for you. But sometimes you feel those apps are useless and just taking up space in your app drawer. Fortunately, Samsung lets you delete pre-installed apps on your Galaxy phone.
One UI offers Galaxy users the ability to uninstall most of the pre-installed apps. But you can not delete all of them so you will have to disable them. The disabled app is not deleted from the device. Instead, it is removed from the Apps screen. When you do so, it will not run in the background and will not receive updates.
Here’s how you can get rid of your unused pre-installed apps on your Samsung phone.
How to delete pre-installed apps:
To delete pre-installed apps from your Samsung phone’s home or app screen, you need to follow the log-press gesture. So, tap and hold the “app icon” you want to delete or uninstall.
Now tap “Uninstall” to delete that app. If it’s an app you cannot uninstall, you will see a “Disable option”. Simply tap on it and again tap “Disable” to confirm. You won’t see that app on your home screen or app screen.
Do note that the Disable option is grayed out if it’s one of the system apps necessary to the device’s functioning, such as Gallery, Phone app, Contacts, Camera, Messages, My Files, and a few others. The best you can do is hide these apps in a folder to get them out of the way.
