Google showcased some new accessibility features to its smartwatch platform. Wear OS 3+ will be getting new sound and display modes as part of Google’s modest Spring feature drop.

This minor yet useful upgrade to Wear OS 3 will improve accessibility on smartwatches by bringing the ability to set mono-audio to “help limit disorientation caused by split-audio.”

In addition, the company plans to soon deliver color-correction and grayscale modes in order to “give you more choice for your Wear OS 3 smartwatch display.”

On the Pixel Watch, this joins features like magnification, TalkBack, and Real-Time Text (RTT). These updates show how Android delivers enhancements and new features to make your devices even better over time.

“Wear OS 3+ will introduce two new sound and display modes to improve watch accessibility. Mono-audio can help limit disorientation caused by split audio, while color-correction and grayscale modes give you more choices for your watch display.”

What’s new for Galaxy Watch?

Samsung ditched its Tizen OS platform in favor of Google’s Wear OS 3 operating system. The collaboration began with Galaxy Watch 4 and continued with the latest Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch lineup.

Since Google directly joined the smartwatch market, it’s continuously putting efforts into bringing advancements to the consumers of its first Pixel Watch. And indirectly, all the novelties are coming to Galaxy Watch as well.

Thanks to the Wear OS, the Galaxy Watch models now offer better support for third-party and native Google apps. There are more customization and personalization options than ever before, find out what’s new in Wear OS 3.5.

LTE variants of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 will soon be able to use Google Maps, even when not paired to the smartphone. Announced at the CES 2023, Google Maps has started to roll out on the Pixel Watch running Wear OS 3.5, and on the way to LTE Galaxy Watch devices!

The latest Google Maps for Wear OS update makes it capable of showing turn-by-turn navigation. This feature will soon be landed on some other devices running Wear OS 3.5 such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series smartwatches.

Since the feature doesn’t require a connected smartphone, your smartwatch must have LTE network connectivity to experience seamless navigation on the go. Notably, the minimum operating system requirement for the phone-less Google Maps feature is Wear OS 3.

Samsung makes the most excellent smartwatches in the industry which introduce wonderful features. All the Galaxy Watch features are not available in certain regions due to legal limitations. However, Samsung is apparently preparing to roll out Blood Pressure feature to Galaxy Watch users in Malaysia.

According to the information, the Malaysian Medical Device Authority approved the usage of the Samsung Blood Pressure app in Malaysia. The company got approval from the authority in mid-November and is now ready to let users use the Blood Pressure app through a compatible Samsung Watch.

Follow Sammy Fans on Google News

As mentioned in the document approved by the Malaysian authority, Samsung’s Blood Pressure App is a software-only, mobile medical application intended for use with a compatible Samsung Galaxy Watch and Phone to create, record, store and display blood pressure information.

Join Sammy Fans on Telegram

Moreover, the Blood Pressure app determines the systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate, and provides values and history charts following calibration with an upper-arm, cuff-based blood pressure monitor. Notably, The BP App is intended for over-the-counter (OTC) use in adults 22 years and older.

It’s worth mentioning that there is no mention of the Samsung ECG app in the database, which means, it may release later. However, it’s most likely that the company may introduce both ECG and Blood Pressure features for Malaysian consumers at the same time.

Samsung’s Blood Pressure monitoring feature works through the calibration process. As part of monitoring blood pressure, the user having a compatible Galaxy Watch must have to enter the reading from an actual blood pressure monitor in the app three times.

Since the application was registered by Samsung itself, we assume that the application is already developed and tested internally. Notably, Huawei and Apple also did the same for their smart wearables to introduce such kinds of features in Malaysia.

This Cradle makes charging easy when using loop type. Its band storage charging cable is easy to assemble and its mounting hole made of TPU material can protect your charger from scratches.

However, you will need to set your Galaxy Watch’s charger in this Charger Cradle, as it is not self-sufficient to support its own powered wireless charging pad.

When the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro were launched in August, many users encountered a specific design flaw that prevented them from putting the Watch 5 down. So to solve this issue, the Korean tech giant made a new charging station which is named Galaxy Watch Charger Cradle.
