The biggest visual change to the interface has to do with Material You theming, including the calling menu, volume picker, and One UI apps. You now get 16 Color Palette options to choose the perfect theme for your phone that is based on your wallpaper. And the best part about this integration is that you can disable the color palette entirely, in case you want to.

Talking more about visual changes, One UI 5.0 adds a new call background feature that adds dynamic backgrounds including AR emojis to the calling menu. You now get a different call background for each contact and can also customize it as per your choice.
The company further introduces tweaks to the Notification panel that now has large app icons with much better readability. On the other side, the “active apps in background” function in the Recent menu is also very useful, you can easily identify which apps are consuming battery when you are not using your device.
Besides refining the overall design aesthetic, the company also brings many new features that make the interface that much more usable. You’ll find impressive tweaks to the Wallpaper and Style section, some new customization features that let you completely revamp the look and feel of your lock screen, and new gestures for multitasking.
There’s also an Extract text feature, which will let you directly copy text from images, screenshots, and banners and paste it into messages, and notes. The Per-app language feature is also great when you like to use different apps in different languages.
In addition to these, the Camera app is getting significant changes with the addition of a new customizable Camera Watermark feature, Help guide in Pro mode, Historogram, improved Single Take, and more.

When we increase the (+) value, the light balance effect is adjusted to make the overall image brighter and more clear, while we increase the (-) value, the overall image becomes darker such as casting a shadow.
The Light Balance function is currently only available for photo editing and will be soon supported by Video Editor.
Sharpness Improvement
Sharpness is a feature that edits blurry photos to make them sharper. Although it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with light, it does involve the power of light.
Brighten the brightest point of the photo that bringing out the texture, which has the effect of sharpening the photo. The sharpness enhancement applies to photo editing and video editing alike.
New Clarity Feature
Clarity is a new feature of the latest One UI 5.1 update. Alike the Sharpness function, the Clarity function applies the effect of lighting rather than changing it. This function makes bright areas of an image slightly brighter and dark areas slightly darker to enhance the texture or three-dimensional effect of the image. In One UI 5.1, Clarity is only available for photo editing, but the company is planning to release this feature to the Video Editor.
