DXOMARK calls Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra a great camera allrounder, but not the best
The newly launched Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone has recently appeared on the DxOMark camera test. They say that the phone offers a good camera performance across pretty much all test attributes, however, not the best.
DxOMark ranked the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera at the tenth position, which is lower than many Google, Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor smartphones. But it’s noteworthy that the company hasn’t tested the phone using its 200MP camera.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone with a 200MP primary camera that offers three different modes, such as – 200MP, 50MP, and 12MP. Whereas, the 12MP is the default mode on the phone and DxOMark carried out the test in the default settings.
It suggests that even the 12MP camera of the smartphone offers a great picture quality that it can even match many other flagships’ larger camera sensors.
The DxOMark test results show that the S23 Ultra offers great detail in regular photos with a wide dynamic range in all lighting conditions. The report states – “It ensures good highlight and shadow detail, even when capturing difficult high-contrast scenes.”
Moreover, the latest Samsung flagship delivers great zoom shots as well. The device features two 10MP optical zoom cameras that offer 3x and 10x zoom capabilities. At the same time, the Video stabilization feature was also very effective.
On the other hand, DxOMark has also described the dark side of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera. The report says that the device delivers low contrast in backlit scenes and some loss of image details in low-light conditions. Whereas, they also noticed shutter lag in low light.
