The new firmware update is arriving on the One UI 5.1 surface with a bunch of security improvements for the devices. Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE February 2023 update is rolling out in Brazil. However, as usual, the company will not take much time to spread the respective update widely across the globe.

Talking about the software information, the February 2023 update comes along with One UI build version G781BXXS4GWA4. Besides, it bears an average software package with a size of 215.45MB. Thus, users must have ample space to download and install the new firmware on their handsets.

The latest update does not accompany any noticeable changes for the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone. But it carries the freshly released February 2023 security patch that provides some stability improvements to the system security.

In addition to this, February 2023 security patch fixes four dozen vulnerabilities that were harming the files and data saved on the phone. These include 47 CVEs from Google’s Android OS and 7 SVEs from Samsung’s One UI software.

Today, Samsung begins pushing an incremental One UI 5.1 software update to the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 FE smartphone users in a handful of European countries.

One UI 5.1 is an Android 13-based skin developed by Samsung and debuted with the Galaxy S23 series. When it comes to changes, One UI 5.1 doesn’t feature any user interface changes but carries under-the-hood changes.

Earlier, the South Korean tech giant amazed Galaxy consumers with a stunning One UI 5.1 rollout. The Galaxy S22, S21, and S20 series devices are updated to the One UI 5.1 along with foldables (Z Fold/Flip 4, and Z Fold/Flip 3).

Seasonal moths

After One UI 5.0, the One UI 5.1’s rollout is a great reminder for “seasonal moths” (OnePlus!?) who just come up to showcase their so-called software support!

“Being evergreen is a pretty difficult task and they should take a lesson from Samsung’s One UI team.”

Keeping “seasonal moths” aside, let’s discuss the update…

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Galaxy S21 FE 5G

Galaxy S21 FE 5G is a great Samsung smartphone, as it’s as great as the Galaxy S21 in hardware and matches the Galaxy S22 in software. And today, Galaxy S21 FE users get surprised to see the One UI 5.1 update rollout early.

  • One UI 5.1 version: G990B2XXU1EWAJ
  • Available in (via):
    • The Czech Republic, Ireland, the Netherlands, Romania, Croatia, Germany, Spain, the UK, Switzerland, Macedonia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, and Portugal — with many more to come.

Galaxy S20 FE 5G

After the Galaxy S10 and Note 10’s Lite variants, Samsung managed to introduce the Fan Edition of the Galaxy S20 lineup. It launched with One UI 2.5, and Samsung fans are intelligent enough of which One UI versions they’ve used.

  • One UI 5.1 version: G781BXXU4HWB1

One UI 5.1 Features and Changes

Hey, folks! Are you done with exploring the One UI 5.0 features? I’m sure, you are still yet to say that the One UI 5.0 has become boring now, but, Samsung finished its H1 work, by delivering the Galaxy S23’s software.

With One UI 5.0, Samsung’s first aim was to adopt and spread Android 13’s reach among Galaxy devices. One UI 5.1 focuses on refinements, improvements, optimization, and delivery of reserved features.

Nowadays, the use of smart devices such as a smartwatch, and earbuds are quite common, and to make it just excellent, Samsung finally copied (hehe, reality!) battery status widget from Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.

Post upgrading to One UI 5.1, tap and hold on the home screen, tap widgets, and feel amazed! There is a new “Battery” widget section, offering two options to bring on the home screen of your smartphone.

Samsung’s AI-derived Remastering feature just secured excellency. The One UI 5.1’s version of Remaster automatically removes shadows and reflections to make your pictures look great.

And not only photos, your funny or loveable GIFs can also be upscaled as the Samsung One UI official showcased this intelligent and silently anticipated GIF Remaster feature at the Galaxy Unpacked.

Expert RAW can now be accessed directly from the One UI Camera app, but you are required to buy at least a Galaxy S22 or later device. Well, you can now easily change your selfies’ color tone using the Effects button on the screen side.

Most fruitful: One UI 5.1 allows you to customize the location of storing screenshots and screen recording.

As said, Samsung focussed on improvements of the most used functions of the software such as “search.” One UI 5.1’s search ability is not close to the ChatGPT thing, but, still, it’s way too better than the One UI 5.0.

Similar to Google Photos, images in Gallery app now show more info than the current condition. You can see when and where the picture was taken, which device took the picture, where the picture is stored and more.

You can check the official changelog at Samsung.com.
