Well, guessing the s/w update eligibility and model number of flagships is a pretty tricky and easy task. Any Samsung fan having a little bit of knowledge and understanding can disclose the model number of future products.

So, what’s left? Let’s gather model numbers of the unreleased Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphones.

  • Fold5 – SM-F946U / SM-F946W / SM-F946B / SM-F946N
  • Flip5 – SM-F731U / SM-F731W / SM-F731B / SM-F731N

The Galaxy Z Fold4 carries model number SM-F936x where “x” needs to be replaced with U/U1, W, B, or N. The alphabets U and U1 denote that it’s a US carrier or unlocked variant, while B is for international, W is for Canada, and N is for South Korea.

It looks like, Google ditched the “L” variant from the Android operating system just after bringing the first iteration. It means, the upcoming Galaxy foldables will come with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 out of the box. Moreover, the software support will last up to Android 17 and September 2028.

It was reported recently that a foldable prototype with waterdrop hinge will enter a rigorous testing phase, and if it passes, Samsung will proceed with the production. The company could launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 smartphone in August 2023, however, an official announcement is yet to be done.
