Samsung is showcasing new technologies at MWC 2023 event, and the company has revealed that its Galaxy S23 Ultra model has accounted for 60% percent of the entire S23 pre-orders.
In an interview with CNBC, Patrick Chomet, executive vice president at Samsung Electronics revealed that Galaxy S23 is far better than S22 in terms of sales.
According to the VP, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra accounts for around 60% of the overall global pre-orders of the entire S23 lineup. These are amazing statics and achievement.
“So we are on the premium segment, despite the difficult economic environment, we see a steady opportunity for us. And the reason is we are very competitive because we have brought a lot of innovation in that segment,” said Chomet.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the top model in the series, packs high-end specs, and a top-notch camera system. The South Korean phone maker has invested in heavy technologies from hardware to software to provide a better user experience for consumers.
Looking at the current trends, Chomet said that Samsung is moving towards double-digit growth in the premium smartphone segment in 2023. Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is likely to play a pivotal role in the company’s growth.
“We expect, kind of, a healthy portion of the mix, to be skewed toward the premium,” Chomet added.
2022 was a tough year for Samsung as the operating profit of the consumer business fell 16 percent during the year. Samsung is still the largest Android phone maker in the world and its premium devices are in demand.
While talking about the popularity of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Chomet said that the pre-orders are an indication that the smartphone market in the premium segment is still very hopeful. As there are a lot of people considering new phones with quality.
