Samsung offers a variety of ways to keep your kids safe from Internet crap, such as Kids mode, Parental control, and others. Meanwhile, the new One UI 5.1 update makes it even safer, letting you create a separate Samsung Account for kids.

Usually, kids don’t have a personal smartphones, they use the phone of their parents. But adults may have sensitive data or important/work-related files on their phones that they do not want their child to see or damage. In this case, a separate Samsung Account for your kid will be the best solution.

You can create an individual Samsung Account for your child on your Samsung smartphone so that when they use your phone, they won’t reach your sensitive files and data.

It’s worth mentioning that you can only create a separate Samsung Account for kids on a Galaxy smartphone running One UI 5.1 software. If you have already installed the fresh software, here is a trick on how you can create an account for your child separately.

How to create separate Samsung Account for Kids:

First of all, you need to visit the “Settings” of your phone and enter the “Samsung Accounts” section. Now go to its “Family” tab and tap “Add family“.

Now tap on “Create a child account” and agree to the terms and conditions. After a parent or guardian authentication, enter your child’s information. Finally, verify the kid’s email and it’s done.

The new One UI 5.1 software is here for all flagship Samsung phones. I have caught a lot of new features in it and one of my favorite features is the Battery Widget. While One UI 5.1 has released the Battery Widget for the home screen, a trick can let you add it to the lock screen as well.

Before heading to the trick, what’s a Battery Widget? The Battery Widget is a useful feature widget that shows you information about the battery status of your phone and all other connected devices at a glance.

Follow our socials → Google NewsTelegramTwitterFacebook

With this, you can easily check the battery of your Buds, smartwatches, and other Bluetooth devices effortlessly so you can charge them before they get discharged.

One UI 5.1 Battery widget lock screen

Moreover, the company offers this widget in two formats – one that appears in circles and the second one that appears in the list form. Circle one just shows the logo of the phone, buds, watch, etc alongside their battery. Whereas, the list also shows the name of the connected devices and their battery statuses.

One UI 5.1 Features battery widget

Adding the Battery widget on your home screen is so easy. Just tap and hold the home screen, select the Widgets option, and choose the Battery. You can select which form of the Battery widget you want to see on your home screen. Well, I prefer the Circle one, it looks classy.

Here’s how to add One UI 5.1 Battery Widget on your Galaxy phone’s Lock screen:

It’s worth mentioning that Samsung officially does not allow you to add the Battery Widget on the lock screen. However, a trick will help you do this. First of all, you need to download an app named “Lock Screen Widgets” through this link.

Now install the app and complete the setup. Do note that it requires access from the Accessibility menu. Once done, open the app and enable the “Lock Screen Widgets” option which is disabled by default.

Now tap on the “Add Widgets” button, search for “Battery Widget” and apply it. Now go to the lock screen and tap the widget with two fingers to “adjust its size and position”.

One UI 5.1 Battery widget lock screen

After you place the widget in the desired position unlock your phone and go back to the “Locscreen widgets” app. Tap on settings, expand the “Visibility” drop-down, and enable these 4 settings –

  • Hide when showing notifications
  • Hide when notification shade shown
  • Hide on security input
  • Hide on FaceWidget

Thanks for the tip, V3trox360!

Samsung One UI 5.1 is officially introduced with the new Galaxy S23 series smartphones and it has a bunch of new features. Additionally, the company has brought several improvements to different elements of the One UI software, such as Picture in Picture.

The Korean company has been offering the Picture in Picture feature for Galaxy smartphones for so long. It allows you to always keep an eye on the video you’re watching or directions to your destination even when you are performing other tasks on your phone.

Follow our socials → Google NewsTelegramTwitterFacebook

This feature is available for some of your most used apps like YouTube, Maps, Chrome, WhatsApp, and other video streaming services. Once activated, it displays the app in a floating window that you can move around your screen.

However, this large Picture in Picture can disturb the other work you are doing on your phone. So for a good, Samsung made this Picture in Picture pop-up smaller (via V3trox360) with the new One UI 5.1 software. This way, you can continue watching your videos as well as check messages or do other work without interruptions.

One UI 5.1 Picture in Picture

The Picture-in-Picture feature comes enabled on new Galaxy smartphones. In case you need to manage it, visit your phone’s Settings, search for and select Picture-in-picture, and then select Picture-in-picture again.

You’ll see a list of apps that are compatible with the feature. Touch the app you want to deny permission for and then touch the toggle next to Allow permission. Now you won’t be able to use the app in a picture-in-picture window unless you grant the permission again.

Your flagship Samsung smartphone comes with a pro-grade camera that lets you capture stunning pictures in every environment. Meanwhile, to further make it easier to capture starts, Samsung will introduce AstroHyperlapse camera mode with Galaxy S23 phones and will expand it to older Galaxy flagships with the One UI 5.1 update.

Just like Samsung Galaxy S22 introduced the Nightography camera feature for Galaxy users to capture effortless night pictures, the Galaxy S23 series will come with an AstroHyperlapse camera feature so that users will not have to compromise while shooting the stars.

According to tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the AstroHyperlapse camera feature will not only let customers capture high-quality pictures of stars but will also allow them to shoot a short video clip from day to night in a professional way.

If you are using one of the new Galaxy phones, you might be familiar with its Hyperlapse camera mode. It allows users to create their own time-lapse videos and record at different frame rates that automatically adjust with what you are recording. The new AstroHyperlapse is also likely to perform in the same way but to capture stars.

Moreover, Samsung will slowly expand the AstroHyperlapse camera feature to its older flagship phones including Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 3/4, and Galaxy Z Flip 3/4 with their One UI 5.1 update.

Samsung One UI 5.0 is great and it brings so many new features, revamped user interface, smoother animations, and other improvements to the Galaxy devices. But there are still some features I wish to use on my Samsung Galaxy. For example, I like the Clipboard popup feature of Android 13 and it would be nice if Samsung implements it with the upcoming One UI 5.1 software.

Google newly brought the Clipboard function for Pixel users driving Android 13 software. It is exactly what it sounds like, it allows users to edit copied text and images before sharing them. The best use I’ve found for this feature is editing ridiculously long URLs I want to share with others.

This makes various tests easy on your phone as well as saves time. Some other features of the Android 13 Clipboard Popup are as follows:

Samsung One UI 5.1 Clipboard popup

Edit text/images in Clipboard –

Whenever you copy any text or image in Pixel’s Android 13, you will see a bubble in the bottom-left corner. Once you tap on it, it will open Android 13’s clipboard editor.

The copied text will appear to let you add or remove text as per your requirement. You can then paste the edited text wherever you want using the ‘Paste’ button. Meanwhile, if you have copied an image, you can crop it, add text to it, or draw on the image.

Samsung One UI 5.1 Clipboard popup

Share items in Clipboard –

On One UI 5.0, whenever you copy a text or image, you have to open the app first and then paste the copied content into it. But the Android 13’s Clipboard popup makes sharing items easy and convenient.

On Android 13’s Clipboard, you can paste the copied text or image into an app using the ‘Share’ button without opening the app.

Samsung One UI 5.1 Clipboard popup

Take action on data in Clipboard –

When you copy a text having a number, address, or email, the clipboard bubble, the Android 13 Clipboard will show a shortcut to the app that can open the copied text. For example, Maps for addresses and the Phone app for contact numbers.

Samsung One UI 5.1:

Samsung will introduce the new version of its current Android 13-based One UI 5.0 with the Galaxy S23 series phones in early February 2023. One UI 5.1 will obviously bring plenty of new features and I really wish to get this wonderful Clipboard popup feature for my Samsung Galaxy with this upgrade.

Samsung One UI 5.0 software that is based on Android 13 OS is currently in the beta phase and will release publically this month. Ahead of this, Samsung Newsroom has officially confirmed the upcoming One UI 5.1 software.

Samsung Netherlands Newsroom has recently shared a new post revealing the new features and functions of the One UI 5.0 upgrade. The newsroom announcement clearly states that some of the new lock screen features will only be available in One UI 5.1.

However, which Lockscreen features are coming to One UI 5.1 are not clear. All the new customization options mentioned for the lock screen are already there through the One UI 5.0 beta update.

Nor is there any possibility that Samsung can remove any of these lock screen features as these are available from the beginning and there is no problem in using them.

Bixby Text Call, Multi-User features removed from One UI 5.0:

In the fourth One UI 5.0 Beta update for Galaxy S22 devices, Samsung has removed the Multi-user feature and said that it’s not coming in the stable version too. Simultaneously, the One UI 5.0 Beta 5 which was released earlier today ditched the Bixby Text Call feature.

It looks like we’ll see these two features in the One UI 5.1 upgrade. It’s worth notable that Samsung Newsroom nowhere mentions that these features will be available in One UI 5.1, it is just our expectation from the company.

Galaxy S23 will debut One UI 5.1:

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S23 series devices sometime in February 2023. These smartphones will come with a few major upgrades over the current Galaxy S22 models and One UI 5.1 software, which will be based on Android 13 OS, is one among them.
